Your September #QGrow Shopping List! 2026’s gardens start now!
Looking to add some colour to the garden? Dip your toe is ‘grow your own’? Or looking to create wildlife friendly spaces at home? Our #QGrow plan has everything you need!
We’ve split our growing into three pillars - food, soil health and wildlife friendly - by joining us in creating at least one area in your garden for each pillar, you’re working towards creating your own garden eco system that does all the hard work for you AND don’t forget, we’re here to guide you all along the way.
What do I need to do?
We’ll be sharing hints, tips, posts and mini events throughout Autumn and Winter into Spring and Summer so you’ll have help along the way. We’re starting off by sharing our September shopping list
Please note we DO NOT expect you to buy everything on the list, but why not pick out some things you think you’d like to have a go at. We’ll support you all the way.
The first event to kick off #QGrow will be a Seed Swap on Thursday 11th September at Quorum Retail.
Don’t forget, we’re hosting our first #QGrow event on Thursday 11th September where we’ll have a seed swap
Why do we plant seeds in Autumn instead of Spring?
Well, we do plant in Spring too but more and more we’re finding September sowings to be more reliable when unexpected weather conditions (could it be heatwave, could it be snow - sometimes it’s both!) hit in Spring time.
Many UK wildflowers (like wild carrot, scabious, campion) drop seed in late summer, but those seeds don’t all germinate immediately. Instead, they lie dormant on the soil surface. Autumn sowing copies this - you’re putting seed down so it can go through the cold and damp of winter.
Where do I follow along?
Followers can join in by tracking updates on Quorum Park’s social media channels and sharing their own progress using #QGrow.
Did you know we have our own dedicated allotment page on Tik Tok? Follow Quorum Allotments on there!
Our allotment open days take place on the last Tuesday of the Month March - October.
