Celebrating Catch the Bus Month at Quorum Park
At Quorum Park, we believe great places go beyond offices and buildings - they’re about the people, the journeys you take, and creating a sustainable, accessible community.
That’s why our travel and community support goes hand in hand.
And this September, for Catch the Bus Month, we’ve been turning that commitment into action.
How we support commuters every day
Even before our special campaign, Quorum Park offers a range of services and initiatives to make your journey here easier, greener and more rewarding:
Travel Guide resource - Our “Getting to and from the Park” guides help people see all their options: bus routes, cycling, car sharing, etc. Quorum Park
Real-time bus info via our App -Users of the Quorum Park app can check in at any time for live bus timetables and updates. Quorum Park
Cycle support / Bicycle User Group - For those who bike, we offer support, bike-related facilities, and regular group-based activity (e.g. breakfasts for cyclists). Quorum Park
Perks & discounts - Through the “Q Card” on our app we offer over 100 local discounts: food & drink, leisure, etc., which helps make greener commuting options more attractive. Quorum Park
Bike / pool bike / shared amenities - Via the app, people can reserve pool bikes and sports courts, hire giant games etc. All of which reduce need for car use, especially for short trips. Quorum Park
What we did for Catch the Bus Month
To build on those foundations, this month we added a burst of activity to spotlight and reward bus users — and to help people who don’t currently use the bus see how feasible and beneficial it could be:
Pop-up prizes and goodies for onsite bus users — small surprises to say “well done” for choosing public transport.
Spot prizes of free week-long travel passes on Stagecoach services — giving people the chance to try full-time bus commuting with zero cost.
For those not yet using the bus: a free Travel Plan Advice Service. We offered help with:
choosing the best routes,
comparing ticket options (including full-time vs occasional/flexi tickets),
understanding schedules, etc.
Why this matters
Encouraging more bus use helps reduce congestion, lowers carbon emissions, and supports a cleaner, healthier environment. It also can make daily life easier for many — less hassle with parking, potentially lower commute costs, and more certainty in travel times.
“We know that getting people to consider greener commuting isn’t just about telling them what to do — it’s about giving them the tools, amenities and incentives to make it real,” says Laura McGrath, our Director of Sustainability and Community.
“Catch the Bus Month has been an opportunity not only to reward those already making sustainable choices, but to open up the possibility for everyone else — whether through help with routes, ticketing, or simply removing barriers. We’re committed to making Quorum Park a place where sustainable journeys aren’t the exception, they’re the norm.”
If you like, I can pull together some photos from the pop-ups or testimonials from users for the story, to give it more life. Would you prefer that?
