Flexible Ticket Options for 2024

Pay as You Go Pop Card

Did you know fare prices haven’t changed on the Purple Pop Card since 2019?

This means it’s much more economical for single journeys and is the smart way to pay for Public Transport in North East England
You can read more about the Pop Card here

Under 21

If any staff are 21 and under did you know they only pay £1 single for any journey on a bus, Metro or Shields Ferry, £3 day ticket.
Details: https://www.transportnortheast.gov.uk/campaigns-and-initiatives/you-can-go-by-bus-for-just-1-or-less/

Corporate Pop Card

A Corporate Pop Card is valid on Metro, the Shields Ferry,  bus services between Central Station and Gateshead Interchange,  bus service Q3 between Haymarket bus station and St Peter’s Basin, trains on the Newcastle to Sunderland rail line.
Companies buy them and takes payment from employees via salary sacrifice.
Cost is £634-£645 depending on numbers of passes bought. Even if only coming into the office 3 days per week (accounting for 28 days holidays)
This works out as about £4.50 per day which is cheaper than the three zone daily cap but you can use for leisure journeys as well. https://www.nexus.org.uk/corporate

Network One Anytime Season tickets

These includes all buses, Metro, Shields Ferry, rail Blaydon to Sunderland – weekly/four-weekly/annual options, but weekly tickets no longer represent good value compared to the new Day Tickets (Transport North East reassure me they are working on that!)
Four week and annual version may be good value for some: https://networkonetickets.co.uk/tickets/anytime-ticket/

Don’t forget…

Quorum App users get free travel between here at Four Lane Ends Metro using the Q Express Pass,

This might mean some staff who previously used a Network One ticket to include the shuttle bus may now just need a metro pass making annual savings.

I hope this helps!
