Ocean Pollution and Single Use Plastics

Join us for this part funded course hosted by Climate Action North,

AIMS

To provide you with the knowledge and awareness to:-
➢ Understand the issue with Ocean Plastic pollution, the cause and factors involved
➢ Understand the legislative drivers and regulations for pollution and packaging
➢ Understand global solutions and actions being taken
➢ Understand the role society plays in the Ocean Pollution problem and how to begin being Single Use Plastic Free
➢ Contribute to mitigating the problem of ocean plastic and finding solutions including Single Use Plastic free alternatives

TRAINING CONTENT

Training will comprise of the following:-
➢ Presentation slides detailing information and learning
➢ Practical exercises to raise awareness and support action
➢ Discussion-based activity
➢ Action planning on how to start being single use plastic free

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN FROM THE TRAINING

Training will provide the following outcomes:-
➢ Understanding the currently Ocean Pollution plastic crisis
➢ Knowledge of the law and regulations underpinning waste and pollution
➢ Understanding the barriers and recognising solutions for global ocean plastic pollution
➢ Knowledge of current successful and upcoming action-based solutions
➢ Learn how to start being single use plastic free, the many options available and make a detailed action plan
➢ Be able to implement small-scale improvements, be less reliant on plastic products and in particular single use plastic
➢ A CPD approved certificate counting towards 4 hours of Continuing Professional Development

 

 

Places on this course are usually £65 each, but we are part funding and offering Quorum Park tenants the chance to take part in the course for only £30
